The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given final approval for the first spot Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States, with trading set to commence tomorrow, July 23.
On July 22, the SEC accepted the securities filings of several spot ETH ETFs, allowing them to begin trading as scheduled. The approved ETFs come from eight issuers, including major asset management firms Fidelity, Blackrock, VanEck, 21Shares, and Bitwise.
Initially approved in late May, the firms had been waiting for their S-1 filings to be cleared. Last week, the SEC informed issuers to finalize these documents by July 17 to meet the trading start date.
